MUTUAL AID ON ADRIENNE MAKES

Mutual aid funds exemplify the strength of community, offering a platform for collective financial, practical, and emotional support. When you engage in mutual aid calls on this site, you become a vital part of a community that uplifts one another. As resources allow I will share various mutual aid calls on the site, your donation of $5 not only contributes to this solidarity but also enters you into a raffle, offering a different prizes depending on the collaboration. This is more than a transaction; it's a shared journey of support and connection. At the close of each contribution period, names will be gathered, and a raffle will determine the recipient!

For this month’s mutual aid I have joined a community of sewists to raise money to support the people of Palestine. In the face of an ongoing humanitarian crisis amounting to nothing short of a genocide, a collective of sewists has rallied together to raise awareness and urgently needed funds for the people of Gaza. Over the past 60+ days, more than 23,000 lives have been tragically lost, with a staggering 9,077 being children under the age of 18. 92% of those murdered were civilians. The current military campaign in the region, being lead by Israel and supported by allying nations such as the US and Canada, has created an unparalleled emergency, leaving almost 2 million Palestinians displaced and unable to access the aid they need. The gravity of the situation demands immediate attention and action. Nothing short of a ceasefire and end to the occupation will suffice. We reject all forms of racism, bigotry, oppression, occupation, and violence. We mourn the loss of all lives that are the result of this brutal besiegement.

How to Participate

Purchase a $5 raffle ticket to contribute to Middle East Children’s Alliance. Your mutual aid not only aids the over 1 million displaced Palestinians but also enters you into a raffle for a chance to win one of three incredible prize packages. Each $5.00 increment is a entry to the raffle. If you make a $5.00 contribution you will have one entry to the raffle, if you contribute $20.00, you will have 4 entries to the raffle.

Raffle Period

The raffle will run until Friday, December 29th and winners will be notified by Saturday, December 30th. Prize packages will be distributed by Friday, January 5th!

In addition to supporting the raffle, coordinators Alyx ( @enderallsews) and Adrienne ( @adriennesews) collaborated with the collective, Sewists for a Free Palestine, to share digital resources to support deepening folx understanding of the current conflict, its history, and ways to actively engage in making a difference. Together, through the power of community and compassion, we can make a meaningful impact. Thank you for standing in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and worldwide.
